As I venture further into the realm of Geek Mental Health, I find that there is so much we can glean from narrative. Through narrative our insides become externalized. From princesses to warriors, wizards and demons, we begin to see ourselves through reflections of others. Every day brings opportunity;
an inherent choice.
I believe we have to make the choice every day to cast ourselves as leads. I believe in a call to adventure that includes uncomfortability and uncertainty. Most of these decisions come along without a captive audience. I must be willing to entertain the idea that change often happens in the small moments, that celebration is on the other side of sacrifice. I don’t believe in living for an audience, and I don’t intend to offer auditions for this life I live. The force is strong here.
Adventure is calling. I must answer.
